Job Overview Gymnastics Coach (Trampoline and Tumbling)

 

Terms of Employment: Part Time, Weekend, Day, and Evening

       20-30 hours per week


Anticipated Start Date: Sept 2017

Salary:  $15 - $20 hour

Location: 179 Canada Olympic Road S.W., Calgary, Alberta

 

Skill Requirements

           Education

- Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)

- National Coaching Certificate Level 2 Trampoline 

- First Aid

- Respect in Sport

- Making Ethical Decisions

- Criminal Record Check, Child Intervention Record Check

 

Experience    - Minimum 3 years experience in Provincial level Gymnastics or T&T coaching

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures and technical knowledge in T&T

- Proven ability to develop gymnasts to a national competitive level  

 

Languages      English


Duties              - Energetic and actively fostering a positive atmosphere.

- Approachable and solution oriented with good verbal and written communication skills

- Assist in planning, develop and implement training and practice sessions.

- Assist in developing, planning and coordinating competitive schedules and programs.

- Motivate and prepare athletes and teams for competitive events

- Participate in coaching clinic instruction.

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

- Attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking

 

Essential Skills

Reading text, numeracy, communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, computer use word and excel, continuous learning.

Description of Responsibilities

 

As the, Early Development Stream Coach, duties will include, but not be limited to:

 

Coaching


  • Early Developmental Groups – full range of coaching responsibility for pre-competitive level competitive gymnasts
  • Administrative Function as related to the position

Strategy
  • Early Developmental Groups - formulate developmental strategy including the planning and development of training sessions, schedules, programs and evaluations

Knowledge Sharing

  •  Attend coaching clinics and meetings for Women’s Program staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education

  • Completion of post-secondary education courses and or degree an asset
  • National Coaching Certificate minimum Level 2 NCCP
  • Respect in Sport Certified
  • First Aid / CPR Certification

Experience

  • Experience in competitive women’s artistic gymnastic coaching
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures and technical knowledge in women’s competitive gymnastics
  • Proven ability to develop gymnasts 4 TO 9 years of age to a national PRE NOVICE competitive level.
