Who We Are
From Past to Present
Where We Began
Originally founded in 1969 as Mount Royal Gymnastics by two local school teachers, Jim and Jean Jarrell, MRGC began by offering a variety of recreational and competitive programs in southwest Calgary within the Atco Industrial Park.
After 32 successful years of operation, the opportunity came to move into a brand new 30,000 sq/ft facility in the sport hub of Calgary, Canada Olympic Park. With this opportunity, also came a new name - Calgary Gymnastics Centre.
Where We Are Now
After relocating to Canada Olympic Park, in 2017 the Calgary Gymnastics Centre expanded again by opening its second location in the North East quadrant of Calgary on Country Hills, Blvd. This 16,621 sq ft is focused primarily on Gymnastics for All programming starting at 6 months - adult.
For over 50 years, the Calgary Gymnastics Centre has been introducing Calgarians to the sport of gymnastics. As a leader in Alberta and Canada, we welcome over 2000 participants into our two locations each week.
Our Purpose
Our purpose, to create a positive impact for life, is centered around a holistic approach to participation in sport. We place the importance on developing the whole child: physically, mentally, socially and emotionally.
We want each child to learn the sport we love - gymnastics, with an additional building of character, promoting teamwork, and creating a supportive environment for everyone to learn, grow, and have tons of fun!
Our Vision
Foster healthy minds, healthy bodies, and healthy journeys in pursuit of excellence
