Build Confidence Through Individual Performance
Celebrate success and continue the journey with gymnastics through the performance of individual routines. Athletes will be challenged to reach their full potential by learning new skills and achieving their goals.
Junior Gems
North Location
Junior Gems is a builder program for young athletes designed to develop a strong foundation of women's artistic gymnastics and prepare athletes for the potential to participate in the Xcel Provincial Program. Athletes can join at the age of 3 and progress through the program until 6.

Please note that acceptance into this program does not guarantee admission into the Xcel Program. Junior Gems classes are offered at our North, Country Hills location. Junior Gems is a tryout-based program.
InterClub
The Calgary Gymnastics Centre’s InterClub Program is an advanced recreational program which provides athletes with a solid foundation for artistic gymnastics. InterClub offers a unique opportunity for each athlete to build confidence and self-esteem through the practice of artistic gymnastics in a team setting. Athletes range from 6 - 17 years old and are grouped according to age and skill level.
InterClub groups train twice per week for two hours. InterClub athletes attend various fun meets throughout the season to perform individual routines on all four artistic gymnastics events (vault, bars, beam & floor). InterClub is a year-long commitment, with regular training from September - June and summer training options in July and August.
-
InterClub is a tryout-based program. Tryouts are typically held twice per season (once in June and once in December). We recommend that athletes trying out for the program have a minimum of a CanGym level 4 prerequisite or related gymnastics experience. We also look for athletes who have a love for gymnastics, demonstrate a positive attitude, desire to learn, and exceptional listening skills.
Xcel
The Calgary Gymnastics Centres Xcel Program is a provincial competitive Women’s Artistic program that originated in the U.S. as an alternative competitive option to the Junior Olympic (JO) program. Xcel aims to provide gymnasts of varying abilities and commitment levels more opportunities for a rewarding, competitive gymnastics experience.
Xcel provides a wide choice of skills at each level and the chance to perform personalized routines. Coaches can tailor routines according to the athlete’s individual strengths. Xcel athletes train and compete in all four artistic gymnastics events at Xcel meets across Alberta. Athletes train 4 – 12 hours a week, depending on Xcel level.
