Trampoline & Tumbling

Jump Higher, Reach Further

The Calgary Gymnastics Centre Trampoline and Tumbling Program provides the opportunity for athletes to develop positive self-image, goal setting techniques and physical and mental strength through competitive sport. We strive to create an environment where each athlete consistently demonstrates a passion to prepare and has the potential to perform on Trampoline, Double-mini Trampoline (DMT), and Tumbling.

Although Trampoline and Tumbling is an individual sport, our athletes experience a sense of team spirit, pride and accomplishment. CGC gymnasts may experience the sport at many levels: developmental, national and international. As with any competitive sport, winning is always a goal, however, setting progressive goals and achieving personal bests are our primary focus.

Tumble Stars

Ages 3 - 7 | 4 Hours/Week

FUNdamentals to Learning to Train

We expect Developmental athletes to be with us in the pre-competitive group for up to three years, working their way through the four testing levels in the program. Once the necessary skill level and training maturity is achieved, we will assess the athlete for entry into our competitive program.

Provincial Groups

Ages 8+  |  7 - 9 Hours/Week

Provincial 1 - 3 & Provincial Evening | Learn to Train

Athletes in this group will be performing in Provincial 1, 2 and 3 levels. The athletes moving through the provincial levels will work towards perfecting basic techniques and will learn how to flip in a safe environment. Set routines are performed at competitions across the province.

National Novice Group

Ages 10+ | 12 - 14 Hours/Week

Training to Train to Training to Compete

Athletes in this group will be performing in Provincial 3, 4 and National 5, 6 levels. The skills learned in this group become much more complex with each increased level. There is a high expectation of commitment to participate in this group. As the athletes in these levels will have some competition experience, their highlight competition will be Western Canada Cup (usually in June). For athletes in this group who have mobilized into the National levels, and are ready to compete in Level 5+, the competition season finishes in June at Canadian Championships. Athletes competing Level 5+ are eligible for Elite Canada, Canadian Championships, and certain international competitions (traveling with the club).

National 5 - 6

Age 14+ | 12-14 Hours/Week

Training to Compete to Training to Win

Athletes in this group will be performing in Level 5, 6, and Junior levels. The focus is on increasing productivity and commitment in training in order to perform multiple double and triple somersaults.  The athletes in this group will have a competitive season from February to November. National 6 - 8

Ages 15+  |  10-16 Hours/Week

JR and SR National | Training to Compete to Training to Win

Athletes in this group will be performing in the higher end of Level 6, Level 7, Junior and Senior levels. There is a high level of commitment and responsibility expected for athletes aspiring to be on the Junior and Senior National teams. There are many opportunities to compete internationally, and the focus is on perfecting competition performance. Our program objective is to continue to retain athletes training in this group and competing on the Canadian National Teams. Athletes in Trampoline and Tumbling need the time to develop past high school and into their adulthood to have the best chance of making our National Teams.
