Registration - Fees - Payment Method

What do I need to do to register for programs?

You will need to first create an account.  The first account you will create is the Primary Account holder (parent/payer account).  Once this has been done, you will continue and create your child(rens) accounts by adding family members.

 

Can I register over the phone or in-person?
You are not able to register over the phone, but may come and register in-person.  Please note that in-person registrations for our Fall, Winter and Spring sessions do not open up until the day after Public Registration opens online.

 

Do I need to have an account to view activities?
You do not need an account to view any activities on Amilia.

 

When are registration dates posted?
Registration dates for our various programs will also be posted Approximately 1 – 2 months prior to registration, information will be posted on our Home Page. approximately 1 – 2 months prior to registration.

 

What is the AGF Fee I am being charged for?
This is the Alberta Gymnastics Federation fee.  This is a mandatory yearly, per athlete fee which runs from July 1st to June 30th.  It covers insurance and membership in the Federation.  If you registered with us and previously paid this fee at another club, just bring us your proof of payment and we will provide you with a refund.

 

Why do I have to fill out a Waiver and PIPA?

A Notification of Risk Waiver form and PIPA form must be filled out per athlete once per gymnastics year.  This is mandated by the Alberta Gymnastics Federation.

 

What is the additional fee I am being charged when registering online?
This is the Convenience fee charged by our online provider.   To avoid this charge, you can register in person and pay by cash, cheque or debit only.

 

What form of payment do you accept?
If registering online, you can pay by Visa or MasterCard.   Payment for in-persons registrations are by cash, cheque, debit, Visa or Mastercard.

Waitlist - Transfers - Withdrawals

If a class is full can I put my child(ren) on a waiting list?
If a class is full you have the option of putting your child(ren) on a waiting list.  The process for waitlisting is the same as registering.  If you do not receive an email confirmation then you have not successfully placed your child(ren) on the waitlist.

 

Do I need to call the office to check on my child(rens) status on the waitlist?
You do not need to contact us.  Waitlists are monitored daily.  If a spot opens up, the first person on that waitlist will be contacted.  You will be given 24-48 hours to respond.  Unfortunately, if we do not hear from you within this time given, we will move on to the next person on the list.  It is extremely important that you always keep contact information current.

 

What do I need to do if I need to transfer my child from one class time to another?

If the time and day you selected does not work with your schedule, you can transfer them to another day or time if available.

 

Am I able to withdraw from a class(es)?

Withdrawals are accepted and a refund will be processed if it is done on or before the withdrawal deadline.  After the withdrawal deadline, refunds will only be accepted for medical reasons.  A medical note must be presented before any refunds are processed.  Fees for withdrawals range from $10 – $30, depending on the program you have registered for.   Please note that our Adult Drop-in classes are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Online Account

What should I do if I have forgotten my log-in/password?
Contact the West office at 403.242.1171 or the North office at 587-319-2231.  DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT.  Creating a multiple account will block returning participants from registering during Priority Registration.  The new account will not have the Returning Participant criteria which is required for Priority registration.

 

Do I need to contact CGC to update my account information?
The system will allow you to update all information with the exception of birth dates.

 

Can I access Tax Receipts?
Tax Receipts can be accessed and printed by logging onto your online account.  You will find the Print Tax Receipt under “Account Activity”.

 

Am I able to access and print all my receipts?
All transactions can be accessed and printed by clicking on List of Prior transactions found under “Account Activity”.

Programs

What class should I register my child in?
CGC offers programs for children 4 months and up.  All program descriptions can be found under our Programs tab.  We offer Preschool classes for children 6 months – 4.5 years.  Kindergym classes for children 4 – 6.5 years of age and Recreational programs for children 6 – 17 years of age.

 

What if my child is not quite the age indicated for the class?

As long as your child turns the age for the class during that session, they can be enrolled.

 

Do I need to have my child assessed?
If your child is over the age of eight, OR you are unsure which program/class to register in, we strongly recommend that you book an ASSESSMENT prior to the start of registration.  Here, a Calgary Gymnastics Centre coach will assist you and your gymnast in finding the perfect class to meet their needs.  In addition to the Assessment, you and your gymnast will receive a guided tour of our gym.

 

Can I bring in my child to try out a class before I register?
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer trial classes.  If you are unsure about registering, we welcome you to visit our facility and watch a class in progress.

If my child misses a class can they make it up?
Unfortunately, due to coach/athlete ratio, we are unable to offer make-up classes.

 

Do I need to stay in the facility if my child is registered in an unparented class?
We do require parents of children registered in the Hot Shots program to remain in the building while your child is in class.

What should my child wear for class?

Children should wear comfortable clothing that allows a full range of motion.  Appropriate clothing includes shorts, leggings, athletic pants, bodysuits, fitted T-shirts and tank tops.  For your child(rens) safety, no belts, buckles or zippers. Bare feet are the safest and only acceptable footwear. Long hair must be tied back and no jewelry.  Valuables should be left at home.  The Calgary Gymnastics Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
